i'd call this stuff brand strategy, but that label has become more about frameworks than figuring out how a 'brand' can make an impact on the bottom line. i'm not so interested in the former, but i’ve had a bunch of fun working with amazingly creative people to explore all sorts of ways to do the latter.
sometimes, it's still just about making a good 'ad' that reaches a ton of people in the most unignorable way. but sometimes it’s more about working with a brand to clone a Grammy winning producer with AI, open a Christmas pawn shop, or perhaps even produce an actual Lifetime movie.
the common thread across all my work is looking for exploitable edges in the market for consumer attention. some longer ramblings on this philosophy were generously published in Ad Age in 2025.
i’ve spent most of my time at creative agencies, but i’ve also worked with brands directly and even had a stint helping out with Accenture’s brand offering.
i've got George Straight and DMX on the same playlist. i enjoy a cold night in a hammock as much as a warm overpriced coffee in Brooklyn. i've spent as much time on brain-rotting meme pages as I have on brain-building twitter megathreads. i live in austin TX, as per the destiny of any slow runner with young kids and a mustache.
